INTEGRATED MATH 6 A or B (1/2 unit each)
This course is the first of a series of middle school level mathematics courses. It is targeted to the sixth grade student. The series of courses will prepare the student for success in high school mathematics. Elementary mathematical concepts are reviewed. New concepts introduced include algebra, geometry and statistics. There is an emphasis on mathematical reasoning and problem solving.

This is the second of a series of middle school level mathematics. It is targeted to the seventh grade student. The concepts introduced in Integrated Math 6 are developed and expanded further. There is more emphasis on patterns, graphing, algebra, probability, geometry and measurement.

This is the last of a series of middle school level mathematics. It is targeted to the eighth grade student. Important mathematical concepts are reinforced. These include numbers, patterns, algebra, statistics, geometry and measurement. Completion of this course prepared the student for high school mathematics.

Tuition: $70.00 per half unit.EARTH SCIENCE A or B (1/2 unit each)
The main focus of this course is geology, but meteorology, oceanography and astronomy are covered as well. The student will learn about the Earth, both past and present, and its connection to the other planets and beyond. Specific topics include rocks and soil, earthquakes and volcanoes, weather, oceans, the solar system and space.

Tuition: $70.00 per half unit.LIFE SCIENCE A or B (1/2 unit each)
This course investigates the science of living things. The students will learn about simple forms of life and how they interact with other life forms including humans. They will earn how to classify organisms, from simple to more complex plants and animals. The complex organisms are studied to learn their behaviors and relationships to one another. Humans are studied in great detail. Their individual systems of bones, muscles, circulation, nerves and reproduction are presented.

This course involves students in reading, writing and vocabulary work suitable for the sixth-grade student. Emphasis is placed on literary terms and comprehension, as well as critical thinking. Each half of the course involves a variety of genres: fiction, non-fiction and poetry. The second half of the course also includes lessons on drama. In both the first and second parts of this course, students will be practicing the important skill of becoming more proficient at following written directions.

This course is designed to develop students' skills in the areas of reading, writing, comprehension, vocabulary and grammar. The major focus will be on literature with student responses to various genres expected. Writing skills are expected to improve as students progress in the course, and the students' vocabularies will be enhanced through the readings and through written exer- cises. An appreciation of literature is a goal and selections designed to appeal to the adolescent reader are included in the assignments.
