How do I obtain a computing account?

Students

Most computing accounts for students can be created in the User Accounts Management System (http://iweb.uky.edu/uams/). Please see the How do I use UAMS to Request an Account FAQ below for more information.

Email Accounts are created automatically for new students, faculty, and staff. Your UK Account is used to check your University Email Address and access UK systems. For help in activating your UK Account please see http://www.uky.edu/IT/CustomerService/docs/account_activation/.
You can also contact the IT Customer Service Center (257-1300 or helpdesk@uky.edu) for information.

Other accounts will not be available in UAMS, or are not immediately available in UAMS. For more information, please select your desired account from the Computing Accounts listing (http://www.uky.edu/IT/CustomerService/Accounts/welcome.html).

Faculty & Staff

Almost all computing accounts for faculty and staff can be requested using the Computer Accounts Request Form (http://www.uky.edu/IT/CustomerService/authoriz.pdf). The form is viewed using Adobe Acrobat Reader 6, which you can download from the UK Download Server (http://download.uky.edu).
