How to Create Account
Use one of the methods below to create your account.
- Fill out the Computing Accounts Request Form (http://www.uky.edu/IT/CustomerService/authoriz.pdf). The form should be signed by an official Security Liaison of your college/department. The form must be delivered or faxed (859 257-9374) to the IT Customer Service Center.
- An email request sent to the CSC's Accounts team (accounts@lsv.uky.edu) by an official Security Liaison of your college/department.
Rules for Passwords
Passwords created for this account must follow these rules:
- Must have a minimum of 8 characters.
- Must contain at least one non-alphanumeric character.
- Must differ from the current password by at least four characters.
- Passwords are case sensitive.
- Passwords will expire every 6 months.
How to Change Your Password
Follow the instructions below to change your current password. If you have forgotten your password, you will need to have it reset.
- Login to the HSM system.
- In the command prompt, type in passwd and hit Enter.
- Enter in your current password and new password when prompted.
How to Reset Your Password
If you need your password reset to the default password, please see the Requesting an Administrative password reset section of the changing your password document.
