Configuring Entourage 2004 for Exchange

Introduction

This document details the configuration settings for Entourage 2004, version 11.3.3.

You can determine you current version of Entourage by launching Entourage, clicking on the Entourage Menu, and selecting about Entourage. Your current version will be listed on the window that is displayed.

Launching Entourage

Applications Folder

Open your Applications folder, open the Microsoft Office 2004 folder, and double click on the Microsoft Entourage icon.

From the dock

Once you have launched the Entourage application you can Control Click, or right click, on the Entourage icon and select the Keep in Dock option. This will create a shortcut to the Entourage application on your dock allowing you to quickly launch Entourage in the future

Configuring Entourage

After opening Entourage 2004, please complete the following steps to configure Entourage 2004 for Exchange

  1. Click on the Entourage menu, and select the Account Settings option.

  2. From the Account Settings window, click on the New button, and select the Exchange option.

  3. On the Account Settings tab enter the following information (required fields in bold):
    • Account Name : A friendly name for the account, "Exchange Account" is the recommended name
    • E-mail Address : Your From address in Exchange, must be either your userID@email.uky.edu or your University Email Address
    • Account ID : Your exact userID, you cannot use your University Email Address for this value
    • Domain : The domain your account is in, will be be "AD" or "MC". The default is "AD"
    • Exchange Server : exchange.uky.edu
    • This DAV service requires a secure connection (SSL) : This option must be enabled.
    • Password : Your current password. If you wish Entourage to store your password in your Mac OS Keychain so you don't have to enter every time Entourage checks your email, then check the box labeled Save password in my Mac OS keychain.

  4. On the Advanced tab enter the following information (required fields in bold):
    • Public Folders server : exchange.uky.edu/public
    • LDAP Server : gc.ad.uky.edu
    • Account ID : Your exact userID, you cannot use your University Email Address for this value
    • This server requires me to log on : This option must be enabled.

  5. Click the OK button, and close the Accounts window to complete the configuration.

You have now configured Microsoft Entourage to check your Exchange account. It will take a few minutes for Entourage to download a copy of your email.
