Creating an Active Directory account in UAMS
What To Know Before Creating Your Account
Before creating your Active Directory account, you should know the following information:
- Your Student ID/UK ID number, which is usually your Social Security number without hyphens or dashes.
- Your 4-digit Personal Access Code (PAC) number. If you have never used your PAC number, it is set initially to your birth month and birth date (format: MMDD). For example, if you were born on May 2nd, your PAC number would be 0502.
You cannot create an Active Directory account if your PAC number is set to the default birth month and birth date. To change your PAC, login using your default PAC to the WebUK web site (http://webuk.uky.edu).
If you have changed your PAC number from the default but have forgotten it, please call the Office of the Registrar (859.257.3161); or if you are a Lexington Community College student, call LCC's Registrar (859.257.4872 ext 4315 or toll-free 866.774.4872).

Your new password will be required to meet the Active Directory password complexity requirements. Please review the complexity requirements on the Active Directory Account rules for passwords (http://www.uky.edu/IT/CustomerService/Accounts/activedirectory.html#passwd_rules) and Suggestions for Keeping Your Passwords More Secure (http://www.uky.edu/IT/CustomerService/Accounts/PasswordPreamble.htm) web pages.
