DEFINITION
OF STANDARD:
The PBX is an in-house telephone switching system that interconnects campus
extensions to other campus extensions, as well as to the outside telephone
network. The Private Branch Exchange offers numerous call features and
a variety of digital telephones. A modern PBX can provide other telecommunication
services such as IVR, ACD, Voicemail and Automated Attendant.

Standards:
UK Business Procedures requires all Communications contracts, service
and equipment be coordinated, approved and purchased by CNS. For more

The PBX
will be an industry standard PBX capable of communicating with the campus
network and the public network.

Justification:
The PBX is an efficient telephone system, meeting the communication needs

Technical Considerations:
