Education Abroad at UK

How it works:

If you are considering adding an Education Abroad experience to your UK program of studies (and why wouldn't you?), we encourage you to visit our office as soon as you can and mention this interest to your academic advisor as well. All UK students participating in an international program that offers academic credit must apply to and be approved by Education Abroad at UK prior to their abroad program.

The first step is to attend one of our many Information and Discussion of Education Abroad (IDEA) Sessions scheduled throughout the semester where you will learn of the amazing variety of options we can offer you and what the Education Abroad process is all about.

The next step is to visit one of our Education Abroad Advisors. Please contact and advisor directly to schedule an appointment.

After your initial meeting with an Education Abroad Advisor you will continue to work with this advisor to plan your Education Abroad experience. Your advisor will guide you through the research phase of the EA process and once you have picked the program(s) you would like to attend, your advisor will guide you through the application stage. Students must complete the Education Abroad at UK application process, as well as the application process for their chosen program(s). Your Education Abroad Advisor can also assist you with any scholarship/financial aid applications you would like to make.

We also continue to work with you while you are abroad, assisting with any issues that may arise while overseas. And when you return, we have many opportunities for you to process, share and take full advantage of your unique experience.

Education Abroad at UK has extensive resources and a wealth of information to answer any questions that may arise for you during the process. We consider all questions valid and important. Please do not hesitate to ask us anything that will help to clarify the process and make your Education Abroad experience the best it can be.

Our Education Abroad Library is open Monday-Friday 8:00 - 5:00.

Please note that the EA Application Procedures and Forms are separate from and in addition to the application requirements for individual programs, including UK Exchanges.
Program application deadlines are often earlier than the Education Abroad at UK deadlines.
