OIA and Explorium Collaborate on Children's Museum Exhibit

The Explorium of Lexington, formerly the Lexington Children’s Museum, unveiled an interactive world culture wall map exhibit called “Passport to the World” on March 27. The projected image map, which measures 7’ x 9’, allows visitors to explore countries and cultures by the simple click of a track ball. Each location highlighted on the map has a corresponding video segment featuring a UK student, scholar or friend native to the particular country.

The "Passport to the World" exhibit is part of the permanent collection of discovery zones available to visitors and is included in the regular admission price.

The exhibit was made possible through a grant from the Kentucky Colonels, with additional funding from Best Buy, and completed in collaboration with the University of Kentucky's Department of Visualization and the UK Office of International Affairs.
