International Classroom/Cross-Cultural Workshop in Eastern Kentucky
Join OIA staff for a two-day International Classroom/ Cross-Cultural Workshop in Eastern Kentucky on Thursday and Friday, March 19-20, during Spring Break. The deadline for applications has been extended to Friday, March 13. This program invites international students to make a 45-minute presentation about their home country to elementary school students in Knox County. Staff from the International Affairs Office can assist with planning the classroom presentations. International student participants will also have an opportunity to learn about this unique region of the United States.
Participants will stay overnight at Pine Mountain State Park and visit the historic Cumberland Gap located in the heart of the Appalachian mountains. The cost is $20 and includes lodging, transportation, and several meals. In addition to the $20 fee, students will need to bring about $10 for meals that are not covered. Spaces are limited.
