I. Welcome Week Spring 2009: Call for Student Volunteers
Welcome Week is scheduled for January 6-13, and current students are invited to welcome new students to campus for the Spring 2009 semester. There are many things for student volunteers to do. You could assist students to find housing, show them around campus or help with paperwork - all while making new friends. Volunteers must be current, full-time students at UK. If you would like to volunteer, please join us for a lunch meeting on Tuesday, December 9 at noon in room 207 of Bradley Hall. Lunch will be provided. Contact Suzanne Anandappa at smanan3@uky.edu to confirm your attendance.
II. International Conversation Hour at Charley Brown’s
International Conversation Hour takes place today at 6 p.m. at Charley Brown's for dinner and conversation. For directions, please follow this link. Next week’s meeting will be moved to Sunday, December 7 at 1 p.m. at Pazzo’s. Click here for directions.
III. International Student Tea Time: I Can’t Skype Enough
International Student Tea Time, the discussion workshop designed to assist international students with a variety of issues related to their experiences in the United States will meet in 207 Bradley Hall on Friday, December 5 at 12:30 p.m. This week’s topic is “I’m so far away from home, and I can’t Skype enough!” The conversation will focus on how to cope with homesickness, how to stay in touch with friends and family and how to find support on campus.
This notification is distributed by the UK Office of International Affairs (OIA) in Bradley Hall.
