Reminders
- Anyone who has not received an e-mail from OIA in recent weeks with their CINTAX tax assistance password information should check all of their e-mail accounts, including “spam” or “junk” folders. If you still cannot locate the information, contact livingstone@uky.edu.
- Applications will be accepted for the International Student Scholarship and the Viji Jeganathan Scholarship through Friday, March 6. Both awards are for the Fall 2009 semester. Click here for an application.
- The application deadline for International Classroom/Cross-Cultural Workshop is Monday, March 9. Click here to download an application.
- Lexington’s One World Film Festival presents Up the Yangtze on Thursday, March 5 at the Kentucky Theatre, 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Click here for details.
- The Gatton College’s Spring Informational session is scheduled for Thursday, March 5, 5-6:30 p.m. in room 148 at the Gatton College of Business & Economics. Registration is preferred. For additional information, e-mail ukmba@uky.edu.

March is Cultural Diversity Festival month at UK. Some upcoming events include:

- Gender & Women’s Studies Film Series: My Home – Your War, Bingham-Davis House, 7 p.m.
- Turkish Language Class, Room 242, Classroom Building, 7 p.m.
- Islam & America: Where We Are and Where We Are Going, Student Center- Small Ballroom, 7 p.m. (Student attendees can register to win an iPod Touch from Student Government.)

- Social Work in the Global Community – A Community for the 21st Century, W.T. Young Library- Auditorium, 10 a.m.

- Career Development Evening, Stuckert Career Center, 5 - 8 p.m. (This event will connect international and minority students with potential employers.)

II. International Student Workshop: Eating and Cooking
Join other international students, as well as staff from the UK Counseling and Testing Center and the Office of International Affairs, to talk about life in the United States. This week’s session, “Eating and Cooking While at UK” will focus on healthy eating, traditional American foods and how to adjust to missing the food in your home country. Meet in room 207 of Bradley Hall, 2-3 p.m. on Friday, March 6.
III. Paying for College
The Office of Enrollment Management is taking a proactive approach to tell students more about what options they have in terms of securing funding to pay for college expenses. Join them for one of two presentations on Thursday, March 5, in the Center Theatre, located in the UK Student Center, noon - 1 p.m. or 3:30-4:30 p.m. Representatives from the offices of Student Financial Aid, Academic Scholarships, Student Billings Services, The Graduate School and Student Employment will offer important information.
