Reminders
- All currently enrolled University of Kentucky students who plan to attend the summer and/or fall 2009 terms must register March 30 - April 21. Students should priority register online using myUK. Click here for more information.
- The Office of Student Involvement is offering the Emerging Leader Institute (ELI) for the Fall 2009 semester. Applications are available at http://www.uky.edu/GetInvolved/Leadership/ELI/apply.html. They are due at noon on Wednesday, March 25.
- International Conversation Hour will not take place tonight.
I. UK Cultural Diversity Festival: Party in the Park
March is Cultural Diversity Festival month at UK. Some of the many upcoming events include:
Wednesday, March 25
1Campus! with Alvin Herring: Explore the meaning of diversity and the power of community. Mr. Herring is also conducting a workshop that required prior registration.
Concert of World Music and Dance
Thursday, March 26
Workshop: What Does Appalachia Mean to You?: A lunch session presented by the Humanity Academy. RSVP to rrreme2@email.uky.edu.
Saturday, March 28
Party in the Park: A community-wide celebration, co-sponsored by Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, to mark the end of the month’s activities. Enjoy free food and entertainment.
Wednesday, April 1
Taste of Africa: This free event includes foods from throughout Africa. Students who attend may register for an iPod Touch giveaway sponsored by Student Government.
Sea of Poppies: The Indian Ocean in the Age of Sail

II. Register for the Graduate Student Interdisciplinary Conference
The Graduate Student Congress, the Graduate School and Student Government have opened registration for the 3rd Annual Graduate Student Interdisciplinary Conference, on Friday, April 3. Participation is not limited to presenters, so please come out and support your fellow graduate students, learn about the amazing research occurring across campus, and be a part of the graduate student community. All participants including presenters must register for this conference. Registration includes admission to all sessions, lunch and refreshments. Advance registration also includes a T-shirt. III. International Student Workshop: Miles Apart
Join other international students, as well as staff from the UK Counseling and Testing Center and the Office of International Affairs, to talk about life in the United States. This week’s session, “Miles Apart But Close at Heart,” will focus on staying in touch with those at home and finding support while you are here. Meet in room 207 of Bradley Hall, 2-3 p.m. on Friday, March 27.
