I. Volunteer for Welcome Week
The Office of International Affairs is preparing to welcome new students to campus. New students appreciate the opportunity to talk with current students, which can ease their transition to Lexington and UK. Current students are encouraged to join us for one of the following volunteer meetings: Wednesday, April 29 at 4 p.m. or Thursday, April 30 at noon. Both sessions will meet in the basement of Bradley Hall.
II. Job Searching for International Students

Stuckert Career Center present “Job Searching for International Students,” a workshop discussing the challenges of the job search and strategies to market yourself to potential employers, on Thursday, April 23, at 3:30 p.m. in room 101/103 of the Stuckert Career Center. Learn about general job search strategies , F-1 visa options (optional practical training and curricular practical training,) and targeting employers that hire international students. The session is ideal for any international student pursuing a job or internship. RSVP on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=71056217330.
III. Call for ISC Executive Committee Applications
The International Student Council (ISC) is accepting applications for all executive positions for the 2009-2010 academic year. Serving as an ISC officer is a great way to meet new people from all over the world and become a campus leader and help coordinate annual events such as International Night and UK's Got Talent. Applications are due Friday, April 24 and can be downloaded from the OIA Web site. Completed applications should be e-mailed to nsjawa2@uky.edu or submitted as a hard copy to 204 Bradley Hall. E-mail nsjawa2@uky.edu with questions.

The International Student Council is proud to present the 2009 I-CUP Soccer Tournament beginning Friday, April 24. To register, submit your team name and member list to bebani09@gmail.com. V. Plan of Action Meeting for Social Justice

All students are encouraged to express ideas, voice concerns and discuss projects at UK that surround diversity and community building efforts.
VI. International Student Workshop: I Don’t Understand the Slang
Join other international students, as well as staff from the UK Counseling and Testing Center and the Office of International Affairs, to talk about life in the United States.
