VI. Census 2010

Anyone who is living in the United States in 2010 will participate in the U.S. Census. The census, which takes place every ten years, counts every resident, including citizens and non-citizens. Census data directly affects how state and federal funds are allocated to communities for neighborhood improvements, public health, education, transportation and much more. The information is crucial to many planning decisions, such as where to provide services for the elderly, where to build new roads and schools or where to locate job training centers. To learn more about the United States’ Census, visit www.census.gov or the link on the OIA Web site.
