Downloadable details and an application are available online. The deadline is Friday, August 14. If you have any questions contact the Kentucky Fairness Alliance. KFA seeks to advance equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people through leadership development, public education, and by encouraging participation in the democratic process.

II. UK Early Childhood Development Opportunity for Bilingual Children

The UK College of Education’s Early Childhood Development Laboratory is seeking children who are 3 and 4 years of age and speak English as a second language to participate in a collaborative classroom project during the upcoming Fall and Spring semesters. Approximately 12 children will be chosen for the project based on language skills in both English and their native language. Children who are selected will attend 3-hour sessions for four days each week at the Early Childhood Laboratory in Erikson hall. For more information, call 257-7732.

IV. Appointment of New Immigration Specialist

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Emily King as the new immigration specialist in the Office of International Affairs. Ms. King holds a BS in Finance and a BA in Political Science from Virginia Tech, and a master’s degree in public policy from George Mason University. Having served as a non-immigrant, visa interviewing consular officer with the U.S. Department of State, she comes to us with a unique skill set and a broad understanding of the SEVIS system. Most importantly, Ms. King has a keen interest in meeting and advising international students.

Ms. King is in 215 Bradley Hall, and William Arnold is now in room 210. Ms. King is not advising students at this time, but her advising schedule will be announced at a later date.

This notification is distributed by UK’s Office of International Affairs (OIA) in Bradley Hall.
