TEMPORARY WORKERS IN H-1B STATUS
H-1B employment status may be sought on behalf of non-immigrants who are in specialty occupations and who will be hired to perform services of an exceptional nature requiring merit and ability. This status is appropriate for faculty, researchers, post-doctoral scholars and others.
The Office of International Affairs’ H-1B Service Center, located in 213 Bradley Hall, prepares applications for departments wishing to hire international faculty and staff. To initiate the H-1B application process, contact Teresa Keller at teresa.keller@uky.edu, or 257.4067, ext. 228 or Maria Tovar at mtovar1@uky.edu or 257.4067, ext. 239.
NOTE: Some departments may wish to retain an immigration attorney for these services. In these cases, the attorney represents the university, therefore, departments must notify the H-1B Service Center before proceeding.
