Health Insurance Continuation Plan

Health insurance is mandatory for international students and scholars at the University of Kentucky. The health insurance fee is automatically placed on the student's bill when they enroll in a class. Scholars purchase insurance directly from www.chickering.com. Dependent spouses and children are eligible to purchase the insurance plan directly from the company's website as well.

Once a student has graduated, or is no longer enrolled in classes, they are eligible to continue purchasing the plan directly from the company for an additional 12 months. If a student or scholar would like to purchase the continuation insurance, they must do so immediately after their policy expires. The application must be completed, mailed, and received by the insurance company within 10 days of the end date of their current policy. The mailing address is provided on the application.
