The UK Office of International Affairs (OIA) strives to provide students with unsurpassed educational experiences outside their home countries.
Students who study abroad develop global competency, becoming adaptable, team-oriented, responsible citizens who are comfortable with diversity and skilled at communicating. These traits ultimately set them apart from other equally qualified job applicants.
Language students are often particularly motivated to experience an overseas environment in order to deepen their language proficiency. It's true that immersion abroad is the best way to learn a foreign language. But no matter what field of study a student pursues, having a global perspective will be a definite advantage. In fact, many of the programs offered through the University of Kentucky are conducted entirely in English.
