Title

Student Privacy

FERPA, the federally-mandated Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, protects the privacy of students' education records. With few exceptions, the University of Kentucky will not release a student's education records to a third party (including parents) without written consent of the student. This includes tuition account details, as well as academic information.

Therefore, the Office of International Affairs cannot discuss a student's personal information unless the student has signed the required release form.
