International Hospitality Program Host Information and Application
International hosts are community volunteers who want to know and befriend international students at the University of Kentucky. There are 1300 international students at the University of Kentucky representing more than 100 different countries. The majority of the international student population comes from Asian countries
Hosts are matched with one or more students based on common interests. Hosts include students in some of the things they ordinarily do and enjoy - a meal at home, sports events, sightseeing, birthday parties, hiking, shopping and especially conversation. New hosts are always needed and welcomed.
Anyone interested in becoming a host should fill out an application and attend a new host orientation session. These sessions are generally held before the start of a new semester. For information on orientations, contact Karen Slaymaker, assistant director of International Student & Scholar Services.
