Newly Arriving Scholars
After arrival, it is necessary for you to report to International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS), 205 Bradley Hall, for J-1 status validation. Please call Marc Invergo, 859.257.8776 for an appointment or e-mail him at marc.invergo@uky.edu. Failure to report can result in the automatic cancelation of your status.
All new scholars attend a mandatory (and enjoyable) orientation to learn about regulations governing the J-1 visa status as well as places of interest in the Lexington area. It is an opportunity to ask questions and to meet other researchers new to the University of Kentucky. The date of this orientation will be given to you at the time of your status validation.
