Dates and Deadlines
The earliest permitted date of arrival in the U.S. is 30 days before the start date on the I-20 or DS -2019.
In the fall semester, Welcome Week and International Student Orientation programs begin the second week of August. In the spring semester, Welcome Week and International Student Orientation programs begin the first week of January.
Important dates can vary for undergraduate and graduate students:
Undergraduate Students
New international undergraduate students should arrive in time for the new international undergraduate student orientation the week before classes begin. New international students will also need to attend a mandatory advising conference the Friday before the first day of classes. Click here for a calendar and additional details.

New international graduate students should arrive in time to participate in departmental orientations, teaching assistant orientation for graduate students with teaching assignments and the mandatory international student orientation.
