Admission
Prior to submitting an application, international students and their families can rely on the UK Office of International Affairs for information on the University of Kentucky, the application process and making the transition from their home countries.
The UK Undergraduate Admissions office supports students through the admission process -- collecting all application materials, rendering admission decisions, sending the I-20 Form and determining if previous course credits are transferable.

Undergraduate Admission
An undergraduate or bachelor's degree can be obtained in many different fields. At this level, students are often surprised by the freedom they have to explore various fields and chose the one most interesting to them.
Typically, this degree takes four years of full-time study to complete. Some students begin studying at another college or university, either in the U.S. or internationally, and transfer their coursework to the University of Kentucky to complete their degree. International transfer students need to meet the language and financial requirements.

Graduate School Admission
Graduate study happens after the completion of the undergraduate degree and results in two main types of degrees, either a master's degree or doctoral degree.
Graduate work requires more self-directed learning and is a combination of both research and coursework. Individual programs have varying deadlines.

Center for English as a Second Language
The Intensive English Program in the Center for English as a Second Language (CESL) is designed to help improve the English language proficiency of non-native speakers of English.
Conditional Undergraduate Admission
International undergraduate applicants who meet UK’s academic requirements for admission but do not meet the minimum language proficiency requirement may be offered conditional admission. The students can complete the language requirement by enrolling in full-time intensive language courses at UK's Center for English as a Second Language. The duration of these courses will depend on placement test results and individual student progress. Upon successful completion of the English language course(s), the student will move seamlessly into a degree program at UK.
Academic Calendar
UK's Academic Calendar lists the deadlines for both undergraduate and graduate programs.
