The Kentucky Geological Survey has just released a CDROM with AutoCAD drawing files of all the coal beds found on the 1:24,000-scale geological quadrangle maps of Kentucky. These data supersede an earlier version of files that were in DXF format, and the new set is considered to be more accurate and complete.
The $30 CD contains files from both the eastern and western Kentucky coalfields. Each drawing file contains the beds for single 7.5-minute quadrangle and is provided in decimal degree coordinates for both the NAD27 and NAD83 datum. AutoCAD v.14 or compatible software is required to read the files.
