Haney Lecture, Annual Seminar scheduled
The fifth annual Donald C. Haney Distinguished Lecture has been scheduled for the evening of Thursday, April 19, 2007. Scott Tinker, Texas State Geologist and Director of the Bureau of Economic Geology, University of Texas at Austin, will speak on the topic of world energy issues. The event will be held in room 102 of the Mining and Mineral Resources Building on the campus of the University of Kentucky. The annual lecture is named in honor of former Kentucky State Geologist and KGS Director Donald C. Haney.
The KGS 47th Annual Seminar is scheduled for the following day, Friday, April 20. The theme for the seminar will be "Geology and Public Policy." It will be held at the KGS Well Sample and Core Library at 2500 Research Park Drive in Lexington, Ky.
