Since June 1, 2003, the public may no longer access paper copies of Kentucky oil and gas well records. Users may access these records online through a criteria-based query system or an interactive map server interface. This Web-based system allows users to view and print these records from anywhere, thus eliminating the need for travel to the KGS offices in Lexington or Henderson. Users are welcome to use the public-access computers in the Public Information Center in room 101 of the Mining and Mineral Resources Building on the University of Kentucky campus in Lexington. Staff members are available to assist you in locating the data you need. In addition, there are facilities for obtaining copies of the records and other software to assist you in your work. Thank you for your patronage.
