The Kentucky Geological Survey Well Sample and Core Library is the fifth largest repository of its type in the country, and contains over 22,000 sets of well samples from 120 counties, 3,000 sets of cores from 95 counties, and 1,000 sets of auger holes from 11 counties. An Information Circular (ser. 11, IC 3), "Catalog of Well Samples, Cores, and Auger Samples on File at the Kentucky Geological Survey," is available for purchase through the Public Information Center, and updates can be provided upon request. All cores and samples available for inspection can be searched for on the KGS database.
