Well sample and core boxes are labeled with call number, county, location, operator, well number, farm name, permit number, footage interval, and box number. Library personnel maintain detailed information on the location of each core and sample box shelved at the library, including aisle, shelf, and row where it can be found. Cores located on pallets are assigned temporary call numbers and each pallet is assigned an unique locator number.
