4.0 Magnitude Earthquake on June 2, 2005
A light earthquake occurred June 2, 2005 at about 6:35 a.m. Central Time in the New Madrid Seismic Zone near Ridgelyh , TN . Registering 4.0 on the Richter scale, the quake occurred 14.9 kilometers (9.3 miles) underground.
