3.1 Magnitude Earthquake on June 15, 2006
A minor earthquake occurred June 15, 2006 at about 8:57 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time in the East Tennessee Seismic Zone near Gatlinburg , Tennessee . The magnitude 3.1 earthquake occurred 5 kilometers (3 miles) underground.
