Magnitude 7.6 earthquake southern Sumatra, Indonesia on September 30, 2009
A major earthquake occurred at 10:16:09 (UTC) on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 in southern Sumatra, Indonesia, 45 km (30 miles) west-northwest of Padang, Sumatra, Indonesia.
The magnitude 7.6 earthquake occurred at a depth of 80 kilometers (49.7 miles).
