Magnitude 3.0 earthquake near Cleveland, Tennessee on November 1, 2009

A minor earthquake occurred at 12:01:26 PM (EST) on Saturday, November 1, 2009 in southeastern Tennessee. The magnitude 3.0 earthquake occurred 24 kilometers (14.9 miles) underground.

The earthquake was recorded on instruments in the Kentucky Seismic and Strong Motion Network, operated jointly by the Kentucky Geological Survey and the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Kentucky.
