Kentucky - West Virginia LSAMP Home

The Kentucky - West Virginia Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (KY-WV LSAMP) is a consortium of colleges and universities working together to create, enhance, and expand programs designed to broaden participation and increase the quality and quantity of students from underrepresented populations who receive degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. Program goals and activities focus on undergraduate research experiences, graduate school preparation, and international experiences. LSAMP is a federally funded program through the National Science Foundation.

 

Services provided:

 

Transitional experience - Making the move from high school to college can be challenging , but LSAMP programs offer social and educational support to make the college experience more fulfilling.

 

Research Experience - Enjoy the hands on research activities that makes a college experience more enriching.

 

Postgraduate career aspirations - LSAMP will work with a myriad of companies, organizations, and institutions that can facilitate seamless transitions from graduate and postgraduate studies to promising career paths.

 

Mentoring - LSAMP believes in the importance of mentoring with STEM faculty and professionals, both in the classroom and in life and career.

If you are a student at the University of Kentucky and interested in applying for the LSAMP program, print and complete this application document.

If you are a student at Bluegrass Community and Technical College, Centre College, Kentucky State University, Marshall University, the University of Louisville, West Virginia State University, West Virginia University, or Western Kentucky University and interested in applying for the LSAMP program, please contact the coordinator associated with your institution for application procedures (select "Campus Contacts" from the menu on the left).
