Ruth Adams (Art)
Ruth Adams has been a professor at UK since 2000. She is a nationally known artist and teacher of Photography and Digital Art. She holds an MFA in Photography and Digital Art from the University Of Miami, a BFA in Photography from Rochester Institute of Technology, and a BS in Computer Science from Syracuse University. An experienced photographer, digital artist, and educator, Prof. Adams has also taught workshops at Maine Photographic Workshops, Santa Fe Photo Workshops and Palm Beach Photographic Centre. She has developed a reputation as a dynamic instructor and an innovative artist, and has enjoyed introducing students to the new world of digital applications available to the traditional photographer as well as continuing to teach the traditional photographic processes she loves. She has exhibited nationally, won numerous awards and grants, and, among others, her work graces the collections of the Robert A. Peck Arts Center, Riverton, Wyoming, Period Art Gallery, Omaha, Nebraska, the University of Kentucky, Truman State University, and the University of Miami.
