Prof. Lee grew up in Baltimore County, Maryland, received his undergraduate
degree from Yale, his doctorate from Cornell, and joined the Mathematics
Department at the University of Kentucky in 1980.
Ever since high school, he has been interested in polyhedra, and eventually
ended up working in this area of discrete mathematics. In addition to
regular courses at UK, his teaching activities include participation in
projects addressing K-12 mathematics in the Appalachian region.
In his spare time, Dr. Lee enjoys hiking (the White
Mountains of New Hampshire is one of his favorite spots), casual biking
(he has a semi-recumbent bicycle), and genealogy. He is also a member
of the Bahá'í Faith.
