Geraldine Maschio (Theater)

Dr. Maschio joined the faculty of UK in 1984 and became department chair in 1998. During that time, she served as Director of Arts Administration and won several teaching awards, including the Carnegie Foundation's "Professor of the Year" for the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 1997.

One of Dr. Maschio's beliefs is that a college education should "unlock possibilities" for students and expose them to new ideas, something that the experience of theatre most assuredly does.

Dr. Maschio worked professionally as an arts administrator before receiving her Ph. D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1981.
