Greenup County, Kentucky

Greenup county is located in the northeastern corner of the state along the Ohio River. It was formed in 1804 from Mason county. The county seat is also called Greenup. The county and its seat were named for Christopher Greenup, the fourth governor of Kentucky. The largest cities in the county are Flatwoods and Russell.
