Fort Thomas, a northern Campbell county, city is located on KY 1120, overlooking the Ohio River. The site of Civil War fortifications and the later Fort Thomas, the city was incorporated in 1914, encompassing an area known as the Highlands District and including Fort Thomas, Guyville, and Dale. The population of Fort Thomas in 1990 was 18,871.
