Germantown is a town on the border of Bracken and Mason counties, between Brooksville and Maysville on KY 10. The early settlers around 1788 were German, thus the name of the town founded in 1794. The Germantown post office opened in 1817. The population in 1990 was 213, with most in the Bracken county part of town.
