Owingsville, Kentucky

Owingsville, the seat of Bath county, is located in the middle of the county at the junction of US 60 and KY 36, just north of I-64. It was established in 1811 and named for Thomas Dye Owings, owner of a local iron foundry, who donated part of the land for the town. The post office opened in 1814 as Bath Court House or Owingsville. The population in 1990 was 1,491.
