Sharpsburg, Kentucky

Sharpsburg, a Bath county town, is located on KY 11 about nine miles northwest of Owingsville. It was established in 1814 on land belonging to Moses Sharp, who had settled in the area in 1780. Sharp is said to have named his new town Bloomfield, for the local wild flowers. The Sharpsburg post office opened in 1821. The population in 1990 was 315.
