Directions

The Law Building is located in the 600 block of South Limestone Street just south of the central downtown area. It is a three story structure of brick and steel construction. There is no street number on the building. It is located immediately south of Memorial Hall (a landmark UK building which resembles a chapel). It is also directly across the street from Lexington Theological Seminary.

TRAVEL AND PARKING

From Louisville, Northern Kentucky, Northeastern Kentucky / I-64 & I-75

Interstate 64 and Interstate 75 run together across the north side of Lexington. Coming from west, north, or east take EXIT 113 (Paris/Lexington) off of I-64/I-75. Turn right (south) at the end of the ramp. This is NORTH BROADWAY OR PARIS PIKE depending on who you ask. Proceed several miles through downtown Lexington. After you pass the Hyatt Regency on the top of the hill at High Street move to the left lane for Maxwell Street. Turn LEFT ONTO MAXWELL, move to the right lane and proceed several blocks to Upper Street. Turn RIGHT ONTO UPPER, a one-way street.

(Upper remains a one-way street until it melds into Limestone where it becomes two-way. The Law Building is on Limestone Street just two blocks after Upper joins Limestone. However, these directions lead you to the UK visitor's parking garage. To park there you will stop before you get to Limestone Street or the Law Building).

After you have turned right onto Upper, move to the left lanes and proceed several blocks. THE ENTRANCE TO THE PARKING STRUCTURE WILL BE ON YOUR LEFT, just after Fazoli's restaurant and just before you cross the railroad tracks. You will be coming in the "back" of the structure. After you park, exit from the front of the structure onto Limestone Street, turn right, and walk two blocks to the Law Building. At present all-day parking is $6.00.

There is other (private) parking available if you proceed on Upper Street past the parking structure. Just after Upper Street melds into Limestone Street there are pre-pay lots on the west side of the street both behind and next door to Bourbon Street restaurant (near Lexington Theological Seminary). These lots are small, but they are competitively priced and just across the street from the Law Building.

From Southern or Southeastern Kentucky / I-75 Corbin, London, Berea, Richmond

From I-75 take EXIT 104 as you approach Lexington. Turn left at the top of the exit ramp. This is Route 25/421, also known as RICHMOND ROAD. Proceed several miles until you get into Lexington. The name of the road WILL CHANGE TO EAST MAIN STREET as you come into the downtown area. In the central downtown area the street will become one-way. Move into the left lane. Turn LEFT ONTO UPPER STREET - this is the next street after Limestone Street. Proceed on Upper Street several blocks.

As you drive on Upper, you will proceed through a residential area and cross Maxwell Street. After you cross that intersection move to the left lanes and proceed several blocks.

From Western Kentucky / Bluegrass Parkway, U.S. 60, Versailles Road

As you come to Lexington on the Bluegrass Parkway, it will end and merge into U.S. 60. This is VERSAILLES ROAD. Stay in the left or middle lanes, come past the airport and the underpass for Route 4 (New Circle Road). Continue several miles. As you near the downtown area a bridge on Versailles Road will go over a rail yard. Immediately after this, VERSAILLES ROAD BECOMES MAXWELL STREET and is one-way. Continue until you cross the intersection of Maxwell and Broadway. Several blocks after that intersection you will come to Upper Street.
