John Batt has been Professor of Law at the College for the longest continuous period of any member of the active faculty. He came to the College in 1962 from the University of Connecticut where he also taught. He is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and a law graduate of the College of William & Mary, where he served as an editor on the William & Mary Law Review. In 1960 he received an LL.M. degree from the Yale Law School. Professor Batt's diverse interests in subjects such as law and psychiatry and family law are reflected in his publications, including a book entitled The Family Law Decision Making Process: An Annotated Law, Psychiatry and Political Science Bibliography (with Professor James of Villanova) and articles in the UCLA Law Review, the Iowa Law Review and the Journal of Family Law.
