Nicole Huberfeld, Assistant Professor of Law, joined the College of Law faculty in 2005 and teaches in the areas of healthcare law and constitutional law. Previously, Professor Huberfeld was the Health Law Faculty Fellow at Seton Hall Law School where she taught Health Care Fraud and Abuse in addition to other courses in the Health Law and Policy Program. While at Seton Hall, she created and was Director of the Health Care Compliance Certification Program, which educates compliance officers of pharmaceutical and medical device companies in healthcare compliance and related regulatory law. Her scholarship focuses on regulatory and corporate topics in health care, understanding the importance of efficiency and quality in delivery of care, and women's health issues.
While in private practice, Professor Huberfeld advised clients on a variety of regulatory and transactional healthcare issues including the anti-kickback law and the Stark law, creating and maintaining compliance programs, HIPAA privacy compliance, and negotiating managed care agreements and other contracts. She also served on the New Jersey Commission on Pain Management and is an active member of the American Society of Law, Medicine & Ethics and the American Health Lawyers Association.
Professor Huberfeld received her J.D., cum laude , from Seton Hall Law School in 1998, where she was Book Review Editor for Seton Hall Law Review . She received her B.A. in history from the University of Pennsylvania in 1995, where she was a recipient of the Award of the Trustees Council of Penn Women.
