Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs Creates Diversity Scholarship
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 13, 2007) – David Calhoun, co-chair of the Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP, Diversity Committee, will join Dean Allan Vestal of the University of Kentucky College of Law and UK President Lee T. Todd Jr. at a signing ceremony establishing a diversity scholarship at the UK College of Law. The ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, at the Lexmark Room in the Main Building on the UK campus.
“We appreciate the leadership of Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs in stepping forward in this important area,” Vestal said. “The impact of this scholarship will go far beyond simply the law student who receives it.”
The Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP, scholarship funds one diverse student throughout their law school career. The scholarship at the UK College of Law is one of four that Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP, has established at law schools in Kentucky and Tennessee. Scholarship recipients will also be eligible for summer internships after their first year of law school at one of the firm's offices.
Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP, is a regional firm with a comprehensive practice in all aspects of business and litigation matters. The Wyatt firm is headquartered in Louisville, with offices in Lexington, Bowling Green, Memphis, Tenn., Nashville, Tenn., New Albany, Ind., Jackson, Miss., and Fort Collins, Colo.
College of Law applicants who have already have applied for UK Law’s diversity scholarships by including a diversity statement with their application for admission, will be considered automatically for the Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP Scholarship.
If you have not already applied to the UK College of Law, but would like to be considered, please email your diversity statement to Associate Dean Drusilla Bakert at dbakert@email.uky.edu by no later than Friday, March 16, 2007. The recipient will be selected before April 1, 2007. Your diversity statement will be used to consider you for all diversity scholarships at UK Law, including the Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP Scholarship.
