January

Year prior to enrollment:

If you have not already taken the LSAT, begin planning on the date that you will take the test and schedule preparation time over several months.

June/July

Year prior:

First date that UK Law and many other schools will accept applications for the following fall.

September

Year prior:

October

Year prior:

Oct/Nov

Year prior:

UK Law's two fall events, the Diverse Student Visitation Conference and the fall Open House, are scheduled during these months. All interested candidates are invited to attend either event. Ask faculty for letters of recommendation before they are busy with exams and other end-of-semester matters.

First UK Law Admissions Committee meeting usually held in mid-November. Most admissions decisions are made January - March. If your personal statement has been drafted, submit it to a faculty member/advisor/campus writing center for impartial review.

December

Year prior:

Third best time to take the LSAT. Register for the Law School Data Assembly Service when you register for the LSAT and request that your college(s) send official transcripts to LSDAS. Send in your applications by mid-December and avoid the rush of applications mailed over the semester break.
