Scholarships and Financial Aid
Because of the generous support of its alumni and friends, the College of Law is able to offer scholarship assistance each year to many of its students. In fact, in recent years 35 - 50% of students entering UK Law have received scholarship awards. However, due to the high caliber of its student body, the College of Law is unable to offer scholarships to all entering students who may have received scholarship assistance as undergraduates.
If you are accepted for admission, you will be considered automatically for merit scholarships. In making merit awards, the Scholarships and Honors Committee will consider your academic honors, undergraduate record, and LSAT score(s). You may attach a statement to your application for admission that includes any additional information you believe to be relevant to your consideration for merit scholarships.
You will have the best chance of receiving a merit scholarship award if you apply by February 1 and your file is complete by March 1.
Whether or not you receive scholarship funds as an entering student, you may apply for second- and third-year student scholarships in the spring of each academic year. Upper-level student scholarship awards are based upon a variety of criteria, including academic performance in law school, service to the law school and community, and financial need.
