The Title

From the MARC record most of the title information is gathered. Fields in red highlight the NDNP required fields (in the lists below, these required fields are marked with *). All other fields are for internal use and have no direct relation to NDNP required metadata.

The Reel

The reel information can be duplicated as many times as necessary and linked to any one title. This method prevents duplication of effort on title information. Further duplication is curtailed by the use of drop down boxes that house recurrent information, such as frequency and source. Notice, too, some repeating fields from the Title page, like Publisher and Location of Publication. It's not unusual for these fields to change during the life of a paper. These repeating fields take that into account and allow one to act accordingly.

Physical Properties of the Reel

Again, some aspects of the film are required by the NDNP specifications, such as density readings and generation, while others are specific to the KY-NDNP requirements like duplicator settings and splices. Regardless, the eval form allows tracking of microfilm data that may be useful in the future.
