Mary Molinaro
Acting Dean of Libraries
University of Kentucky


Mary Molinaro is currently the Acting Dean of Libraries at the University of Kentucky (through June 2003). Prior to serving in that capacity she was the Director of the William T. Young Library at the University of Kentucky (since 1997). From 1992-1997 she served as the Associate Director for Electronic Resources, a position that coordinated the student computing labs and electronic library resources at UK.

Ms. Molinaro's master's degree in library science and undergraduate art degree are both from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. She used both disciplines when she served as the President of the Kentucky/Tennessee/West Virginia chapter of the Art Libraries Society during the early 1990's and in 1995 she developed ArtSource, the first art internet resource list on the World Wide Web.

Ms. Molinaro has done extensive library consulting for academic libraries in Ecuador and in Vietnam. In 2002 she was named a Senior Specialist by the Fulbright Commission. She serves on the Board of the International Book Project and is President Elect for the Kentucky Ecuador Partners of the Americas.

Ms. Molinaro's current scholarly interests include the capturing of scholarly content into institutional repositories and the building of information infrastructure in developing nations.
