Art Collection

The Art book collections contain materials that pertain to the history and criticism of western art, photography, and studio practices in the areas of painting, drawing, sculpture, graphic arts, ceramics, fiber and decorative arts. See the electronic resources associated with the arts. An uncataloged collection of Press Packets created by Art Studio majors is located on the last row of shelving, after the Theses. 

The Harlan Hubbard Image Collection

The Harlan Hubbard Image Collection contains over 500 slides and digital images of paintings by Harlan Hubbard, a Kentucky artist who lived from 1900-1988. For access to the collection, see Meg Shaw, Art Librarian.  To see examples of his paintings, select from the following menu

John Tuska Collection (University of Kentucky), circa 1931 - 1999

This collection consists of paper materials, photographic prints, slides, and videotapes formerly belonging to John Regis Tuska. John Tuska was a University of Kentucky Professor of Art from 1963 to 1992.  Materials are located in Special Collections.

Painting and Sculpture Collection

Most of the paintings, photographs, sculpture and mixed media works in the Little Fine Arts Library have been provided by or funded by a generous donor.  All of the artists are either from Kentucky, or have other local connections.  The following artists are represented:  Jane Burch Cochran, Marjorie Guyon, Harlan Hubbard, Ron Isaacs, Eric Johnson, K.M. Johnson, Bow Hutcheson Kulp, Marianna McDonald, Fay Moore, M.S. Rezny, John Tuska, LaVon Van Williams Jr., Russell Weedman and Albert Wong.
